We had a whale of a time and I'd come back! I purchased some of the best coconut macaroons and peppermint bark I've ever had! My family was planning on heading down for Beaufort for the day - so I called a couple days ahead and made a reservation for a party of 8 at 5pm. We had stopped at 2 other spots in town in pouring down rain with 2 elderly people one on a cane and wouldn't be seated without reservations. Everything we ordered was excellent, but did I mention that the crab cakes are out of the world?! We were just in time to watch the sunset. The macaroons were moist and chewy and huge! I bought several baggies to give to friends as gifts! The lunch menu offers a unique selection of sandwiches, soups, salads and pastas. My veggies didn't have much seasoning and were just average - which dragged down my overall satisfaction of the meal. Everyone was friendly and the view was nice. A business center is on site at this 3-star property.
We were glad we didn't order anything more complicated. The Spouter Inn is pricey but the quality of the seafood and the view can't be beat. Current Owners In the summer of 2018, Linda and Marc Impagliazzo became the owners and hosts of the Spouter Inn. It isn't the best I've ever had, but it still tasted good and like it was comprised of fresh crab. The place was not bad by any means, but I have to admit I was a bit disappointed based on the 4. Cellardoor Winery and Camden Hills State Park are also within 6 miles 10 km. We were a rowdy crowd and the waitstaff was very accommodating. There are a couple small tables too, and outlets to charges your phones.
I wasn't too fond of the brownies though, a bit crumbly for my taste. The waitress was quick, friendly and attentive. They have absolutely, hands down, the best crab cakes any of us has ever had and 5 at our table either ordered or tasted them. The shrimp was quite large and tasted like it was fresh caught that day. But in terms of overall experience? We happened upon The Spouter Inn and they were wonderfully accommodating! The Spouter Inn restaurant offers fresh local seafood, just off the boat. Food was fantastic and fresh.
Another positive was the vegetables that came with it werent soaked in butter. Some people come dressed up and others come and sandals, shorts and t-shirts like we did. Everyone in our party felt that their food was good, but not outstanding. Loved rocking on the front porch overlooking the sea. Waitress was super friendly as was all the staff we encountered. We both had the egg salad sandwich and it was terrific! We were trying to figure out how they held together so well because there was so much meat, and no frou frou. This Lincolnville inn provides complimentary wireless Internet access. There were 2 young guys who I guess were considered runners that had great personalities, brought around dessert trays, replenished our bread baskets multiple times. Not one person had a complaint. A business center, a terrace, and a garden are also on offer. Our waitress Anna was very attentive we never went without a full drink. Drink selection on the menu was decent. It was heavy, like any other creamy pasta, but it was delicious and tasted homemade.
The cherry tomatoes and spinach in the pasta were fresh and complimented the dish well. The key lime pie we had rivaled that in the Florida Keys and the french silk was similar to what they served at Marie Calendars when they used to dot the country. We just didn't have enough room for anything else in our stomachs! I loved the shrimp and grits. Housekeeping is available once per stay. Amazingly tasty lunch on a scenic waterfront deck in a charming historic town. It is situated on 1. They get 5 stars alone for being soooo gracious even when we were crazy.
